  • Cancer Aid Society, is an ISO 9001 NGO in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council and Member of World Health Organisation’s Global Coordination Mechanism on Non Communicable Diseases duly registered under Societies Act, Income Tax Act & FCRA working Internationally in fight against Tobacco, Cancer integrated with NCDs along with Palliative Care & Advocacy.
  •  Under Nationwide Cancer Control Program we established Offices across India in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmadabad, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Lucknow.
  • Will and action under Social Responsibility kindles a ray of hope every dawn, amidst this darkness. In such a scenario contributions from one and all is vital for saving precious human lives and their families from destruction due to Cancer. In absence of Government funding for this mammoth task we request you to donate
    generously and strengthen our fight against Cancer.
    Donations are eligible for Income Tax Exemption under Section 80 G.

History

  • With an Eagle’s Eye our Vision of eighties resulted in the incorporation of Cancer Aid Society on 8th of December 1987 at Lucknow. 
  • Founders of the Cancer Aid Society perceived the threats early and initiated the fight against cancer without financial assistance from any external agency unfurling series of events internationally.
  •  Our foresight got reflected in National Cancer Control Programme of WHO in 1995, on 4th of February 2000 (World Cancer Day) under Charter of Paris.
  • Cancer Aid Society, a National, Social, Secular, NGO stands committed for Cancer Control Globally since 1987.“Prevention is better than cure”, with this dictum dictate and its successful implementation this Society has the distinction of obtaining ISO 9001 Certification in the Social Sector.
  • We are working in tune with the guidelines of National Cancer Control Programme of World Health Organisation by generating awareness among children and adults in the Regional Languages throughout the Country.

 

  • Emphasizing on tobacco abuse (active and passive smoking), carcinogens, good dietary habits, exercise, healthy lifestyle, genital and personal hygiene together with early symptoms of Cancer, we aim at decreasing the Mortality(deaths) by targeting 2/3rd of all Cancers through Primary Prevention and Early Detection.
  • We are also committed towards reducing the Morbidity(sufferings)  in remaining 1/3rd by improving their quality of life through Palliative Care and providing financial assistance for palliative care/ treatment/ welfare/ rehabilitation of Cancer Patients.

Activities at glance

  • Cancer being the Second leading cause of death globally has no antecedents for it eradication/ control other than generating awareness among each and everyone and in all and sundry since no prophylactic measures are available for its control.
  •  This stupendous task has been undertaken by Cancer Aid Society through its sharply defined objectives.  We have constructed a Day Care Center for the Cancer Patients at Lucknow in an area of 45 thousand square feet the first one in the most populous State of the Country i.e. UP having 3% of Global Population so as to address the needs for Palliative Care for the terminally ill patients.
